Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) announced the passage of an Amendment he introduced to stop the Trump Administration from selling weapons to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates without Congressional approval. The provision prohibits the research, development, production and deployment of low-yield nuclear warheads for submarine-launched ballistic missiles. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 2476, Securing American Nonprofit Organizations Against Terrorism Act of 2019. This bill authorizes the Department of Homeland Security's Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) and increases its funding from $60 million to $75 million. In 2016 and 2018, Congressman Lieu sent letters of support for the program, which helps nonprofit institutions like synagogues, churches and mosques improve their security protections.
