The effort, spearheaded in the House by Lieu and Hill, modifies the deed at the West LA Armory to allow a shelter to operate on the property year-round.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after the House passed his amendment to the NDAA limiting Defense funds from being used at Trump-owned properties. The amendment would prevent the President from profiting off of American taxpayers by forcing government employees to stay at his properties and subsidize his businesses. The amendment enables funds to be used at Trump-owned properties if the President agrees to reimburse the Treasury Department for costs associated with his stay.

WASHINGTON – This week, Congressman Ted W.
