The 36th district stretches much of western Los Angeles County. Covering many coastal neighborhoods along the Pacific Coast, West Los Angeles and the South Bay and the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The district is home to the cities of Rancho Palos Verdes, Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Lomita, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, unincorporated Marina Del Rey, part of Culver City, part of the city of Torrance, and the neighborhoods of Mar Vista, Playa Del Rey, Playa Vista, Harbor City, Sawtelle, Westwood, and parts of San Pedro, Palms and Westchester, in the City of Los Angeles.

The 36th district is home to some of the most iconic vistas and landmarks in Southern California. From the historic Venice Canals, to Point Vicente Lighthouse and the Santa Monica Pier, the 36th district is home to diverse communities, the pristine Pacific coastline, beautiful hiking trails and some of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Southern California.

The 36th district also features key centers for higher learning including the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Loyola Marymount University, Santa Monica College, and Harbor College. The 36th district is home to a significant presence of the aerospace industry, where the James Webb Space Telescope was created and constructed and is home to the Los Angeles Air Force Base. The entertainment industry populates much of the district including post-production and creative offices and major studios such as Manhattan Beach Studios which create the television shows, documentaries and movies we all watch and enjoy.

The tech sector in the 36th district is one of the fastest-growing economic areas in the nation, where tech companies are growing along Silicon Beach and in the South Bay. Much of the entertainment industry and some of California's best craft breweries are located in our communities.

Some of the most famous beaches, trails, and piers in the United States are in the 36th district which is bounded by the Santa Monica Bay, including Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach (home to Muscle Beach), Dockweiler Beach, Torrance Beach, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach, the Ballona Wetlands, Point Vicente, Portuguese Bend Reserve and King Harbor.

The 36th district is home to diverse cities, communities and industries and is the location of some of the most iconic views and locations in Southern California. It is an honor to serve the residents of this district.
