REP LIEU APPLAUDS $100 MILLION GRANT FOR LA METRO PURPLE LINE EXTENSION

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) celebrated the news that the Federal Transit Administration will award LA Metro $100 million for Section 3 of the Purple Line Extension Project.

"Transit expansion projects like the Purple Line Extension will provide better commuting options for Angelenos and reduce traffic congestion and carbon emissions. This new funding will support section three of the Purple Line Extension, which will connect downtown to Westwood, UCLA and the West LA VA, thereby creating an affordable transit option for residents and tourists. On top of that, fewer cars on the road mean less traffic and better outcomes for our environment. I commend LA Metro for their hard work improving LA's transportation options, and I look forward to seeing this project through."
