WASHINGTON - On Saturday, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) hosted his congressional district's sixth-annual reception for the Congressional Art Competition at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. Students from 15 different high schools submitted 273 pieces of art for this year's competition. These submissions included 110 photographs, 66 paintings, 50 drawings, 28 mixed-media pieces, and 19 other pieces that included computer-generated art.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after both Los Angeles City and Los Angeles County declared a public health emergency as a proactive measure to stave off the spread of COVID-19 ("the coronavirus") in the Los Angeles community. These public health emergency declarations will enable officials to more easily acquire federal funding to assist with efforts to address and contain the coronavirus. It follows similar actions by other localities in California and around the country.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after the Department of Transportation transmitted to Congress the Full Funding Grant Agreement (FFGA) for the Westside Purple Line Extension Section 3 Project. Following a 30-day Congressional Review Period, Los Angeles County Metro will receive nearly $1.3 billion in funding for the project.

WASHINGTONToday, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) announced that Gary Hall Jr., former Olympic swimmer and outspoken patient advocate, will join him at the State of the Union in Washington, DC on February 4, 2020. After being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, Hall went on to become an Olympic champion, winning a career total of ten Olympic medals. Although he represented America on the global stage, he still struggled to afford health insurance and insulin payments.
