WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) sent a letter to Defense Secretary Mark Esper calling for a regular public disclosure of the number of animals the Defense Department uses in its research. Presently, the American public does not have a full accounting of all species used in animal research at the DoD. An annual disclosure by the department would ensure the DoD continues its efforts to reduce the unnecessary use of animals in testing and research.

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) sent a letter with Reps. Karen Bass, Alan Lowenthal, Adam Schiff, Nanette Barragan and Lucille Roybal-Allard to the Assistant Secretary of the Army and the Chief of Engineers for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers urging them to support the West Basin Municipal Water District's $5 million funding request for the Harbor South Bay project within the Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Fiscal Year 2020 Construction work plan.
WASHINGTON – This week, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after the House passed this year's National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Among the provisions in the final bill were amendments introduced by Rep. Lieu including a requirement for a defense and diplomatic strategy for Libya, a prohibition on refueling assistance to the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen for two years and the Establishment of a process to modify the West Los Angeles National Guard armory to allow for a new homeless shelter.
