REP LIEU STATEMENT ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE ANNIVERSARY
WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement on the 105th anniversary of the Armenian genocide.
"Last fall, I was proud to join my Congressional colleagues in passing a resolution to officially recognize the Armenian Genocide so that we can honor the lives lost and ensure it never happens again. In the United States, we shouldn't be afraid to speak the truth, particularly when it comes to recognizing the horrors of this atrocity.Today marks the 105th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. This genocide killed 1.5 million Armenians over four years and was a horrific and systematic expression of evil. This is a somber day where we remember the lives lost and honor the resilience of the Armenian people."
