WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County), a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement after His Excellency Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), addressed a joint meeting of Congress today.
Congressman Ted Lieu (D-CA) wants to authorize $750 million annually in federally funded grants over the next five years for local governments to combat homelessness. He introduced the Fighting Homelessness Through Services and Housing Act on Friday.
WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) and Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Kamala Harris today introduced legislation that would allow the West Los Angeles National Guard Armory to operate as a year-round homeless shelter. The armory is currently used as a temporary shelter only during the winter months.
In a letter to the Senate and House Armed Services Committees, the members requested that the legislation be included in the next National Defense Authorization Act.

Jody Hice (R-GA) called "The Inspector General Protection Act". The Inspector General Protection Act would require Federal agencies and departments to notify Congress before enacting a personnel change, such as putting their Inspector General (IG) on paid or unpaid non-duty status.
