WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) and Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), both Members of the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus, reintroduced the bipartisan Driftnet Modernization and Bycatch Reduction Act, which would phase out the use of large mesh drift gillnets off the coast of California and set a path toward more sustainable fishing in the region.

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Ted Lieu (D-Los Angeles County), Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Congressman Steve Stivers (R-OH) today introduced the "Fighting Homelessness Through Services and Housing Act", a bill to increase federal resources to battle homelessness. Specifically, the bill authorizes $750 million in grants annually for the next five years for local governments to combat homelessness.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after the Committee on Oversight and Reform passed by voice vote his bipartisan bill with Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA) called "The Inspector General Protection Act". The Inspector General Protection Act would require Federal agencies and departments to notify Congress before enacting a personnel change, such as putting their Inspector General (IG) on paid or unpaid non-duty status.

President Donald Trump may have committed bank fraud if he lied to Deutsche Bank about his net worth in order to obtain a loan, Representative Ted Lieu of California said this week, noting that some of Trump's associates had gone to prison for similar crimes.

"The American people must not become numb to these disturbing reports. We now have further evidence that Donald Trump may have repeatedly committed bank fraud, a felony under 18 U.S.C. 1344," Lieu told Newsweek.

WASHINGTON — Four congressmen urged the FBI on Tuesday to investigate "foreign entities" believed to be targeting servicemembers and veterans online with false information.

Reps. Gil Cisneros, D-Calif., Don Bacon, R-Neb., Ted Lieu, D-Calif., and Greg Steube, R-Fla., wrote to FBI Director Christopher Wray, asking for an investigation into "suspicious" social media accounts that could be impersonating veterans service organizations.
