Among the most homespun of tributes, the San Fernando Valley Veterans Day parade returned on Saturday at 11:11 a.m. as it does on the holiday each year.
LOS ANGELES – Over Veterans Day weekend, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) announced that the city of Rancho Palos Verdes will receive a $23.3 million grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for a landslide mitigation project. The funding will support the city’s Portuguese Mud/Landslide Community Infrastructure Resilience Project to stabilize a 240-acre landslide area, eliminate excess moisture, and reduce future ground movement.
