WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement calling for ICE and CBP interior operations to stand down its operations across the country following another immigration enforcement-related shooting in Minnesota.
Democrats who wanted to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem were on the fringes. Then, the shootings in Minneapolis and Portland happened.
Congressman Ted Lieu, who represents Los Angeles on Capitol Hill, said Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem should resign, saying that her comments calling the woman killed by a federal agent a “domestic terrorist” are “disgraceful.”
“She has repeatedly lied to the American people, and after the shooting of Renee Nicole Good, she called her a ‘domestic terrorist,'” the California Congressman posted on social media. “Disgraceful. Renee was a U.S. citizen, mother of three, and had just dropped off her son at school.”

California Rep. Ted Lieu, vice chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, said Tuesday that attacking shipwrecked survivors is a crime of war, and that any member of the U.S. military involved in such actions — including Defense secretary Pete Hegseth — should be punished.
“I served on active duty as a JAG for four years, and then an additional 21 years in the reserves. And let me be very clear: Killing shipwrecked survivors is a war crime,” he told reporters in the Capitol.
