In his talk, Rep. Lieu draws a parallel to the creation of the modern FDA in the 1930s, which happened after more than 100 people died due to unregulated medicine containing anti-freeze.

In California, more than 2.3 million people will lose health insurance and 368,000 could lose access to food assistance because of this bill.
