WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement on the two-year anniversary of the October 7th terrorist attacks in Israel.

“Today marks two years since Hamas’ devastating terrorist attack on October 7, 2023 in Israel. It was a dark, evil day that amounted to the worst mass murder of Jews since the Holocaust. Two years later, dozens of families still agonize over whether and when their loved ones who are being held hostage will come home.

The strategy strays from the official line coming from top Democrats such as House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (N.Y.), who say they want their midterm campaign message to center on Medicaid cuts and other kitchen-table policies contained in Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.”
But the focus on Epstein has also been remarkably successful, energizing the Democratic grassroots and aggravating tensions within the GOP.

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after voting against Donald Trump's Big Ugly Bill, H.R. 1. The bill passed the House 218-214 and will now be signed into law. In California, more than 2.3 million people will lose health insurance and 368,000 could lose access to food assistance because of this bill.

WASHINGTON—Today, Congressman Ted Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) and Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, introduced a resolution to honor World Refugee Day and the United States’ commitment to supporting refugees and forcibly displaced persons worldwide. The World Refugee Day Resolution was cosponsored by 23 Senators and 49 Members of Congress.

"I stand with Israel. A world with fewer nuclear weapons is a safer one for everyone. The autocratic and theocratic Iranian regime could launch nuclear weapons not only at Israel, but also U.S. military bases and other U.S. interests.
