Los Angeles - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D | Los Angeles) released the following statement following the news that the California Department of Fish and Wildlife has found a match between one sample from the Refugio/Santa Barbara oil spill and a tar ball from the Manhattan Beach/South Bay incident.

WASHINGTON - Yesterday, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D | Los Angeles)’s amendment to H.R. 2578, the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2016 was adopted by voice vote. The federal government’s Cannabis Eradication/Suppression Program is funded out of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)’s Salaries and Expenses Account. Last year, $18 million was used for marijuana eradication/suppression.
