WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after his bill, the SAVE Act (Supporting At-risk Veterans in an Emergency Act), was signed into law as part of H.R.7105, the Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020. Rep. Lieu's legislation allows the West LA VA and other VA campuses across the country to provide veterans experiencing hardship access to food and other necessities during a public health emergency.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressmen Ted Lieu (CA-33), David N. Cicilline (RI-01), and Jamie Raskin (MD-08) introduced an article of impeachment against President Donald Trump this morning. The impeachment resolution is sponsored by Cicilline, with Lieu and Raskin serving as the two lead co-sponsors. It is also co-sponsored by another 211 members of the U.S. House.

LOS ANGELES - On Thursday, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) hosted California's 33rd Congressional district's fifth-annual Congressional App Challenge. This year's reception was hosted virtually, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sixteen students from ten high schools submitted eleven apps for this year's competition.

Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement in response to an 11th Circuit Court decision to block certain laws banning LGBTQ+ conversion therapy. Rep. Lieu authored the first ban on youth conversion therapy in the nation as a California State Senator and has introduced federal bans in the 114th, 115th and 116th Congresses.

U.S. Congressman Ted Lieu—who represents California's 33rd District, which includes Malibu—introduced a bill on Friday, Oct. 30, that would authorize $500 million worth of grants for homelessness aid.

Called the Prevent Homelessness Act, the bill would fund a wide array of services and expenses such as rent, utilities, legal services and "other short-term payments calculated to increase housing stability," according to a statement from the representative's office.

Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) released the following statement after the President signed into law the Empowering Olympic, Paralympic, and Amateur Athletes Act, a bill Rep. Lieu introduced along with Reps. Susan Brooks (R-IN), John Curtis (R-UT), and Diana DeGette (D-CO) to protect athletes from sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. The bill, which is a companion to Sens. Jerry Moran and Richard Blumenthal's Senate legislation, strengthens legal liability and accountability mechanisms for the U.S.

Congressman Ted W. Lieu, D-Los Angeles, Friday introduced the Prevent Homelessness Act to combat the nation's growing homelessness crisis, his office announced.

The bill authorizes $500 million in grants annually to establish a Housing Stabilization Fund to cover expenses such as rent, utilities, legal services, and other short-term payments calculated to increase housing stability, according to a statement.
