WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County), along with fellow California Coastal Caucus Co-Chair Julia Brownley (D-CA), led Members in urging the FDA to test fish and shellfish off the coast of southern California for dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, or DDT. In the letter, the Members urged FDA Commissioner Robert Califf to undertake this testing because DDT is possibly carcinogenic and has been found in unhealthy quantities off the coast of California.

The Inflation Reduction Act is a historic victory for America's families and for protecting our planet by taking aim at reducing the deficit through taxes on the largest corporations and lowering health-care costs on prescription drugs. At the same time, it is the most expansive legislation to combat climate change that Congress has passed.

The EMI program at DOT advances a vision of mobility for all through safe, reliable, equitable, and accessible transportation services.

Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) led a bipartisan letter with 38 Members of Congress to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) expressing concern over the management practices of wild horses at the Devil's Garden Plateau Wild Horse Territory in California's Modoc National Forest.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Santa Monica is about to receive a hefty injection of funds following Gov. Gavin Newsom's signing of a historic $308 billion state budget. The city has secured $16 million for three local projects.

The money will fund new city crosswalks, medians, landscaping, lighting access to safe temporary housing and more through projects led by Assemblymember Richard Bloom.
