Tar Balls that came ashore last month at Manhattan Beach have been traced to the oil spill off Santa Barbara County.
During the first week of June tarballs washed ashore closing all three beach cities. Results indicate the source was from the Refugio spill.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Tar from the Santa Barbara oil spill washed up at least as far away as a Los Angeles County beach last month, according to test results released Monday.
The findings confirmed what was suspected by many after globs of oil began swamping Southern California beaches in the weeks after a pipeline dumped up to 101,000 gallons of crude oil on the coast May 19.
Workers examine the coastline in Long Beach for tarballs. The tarballs have also washed ashore in Oxnard, Malibu and the South Bay.
Crude oil from a pipeline rupture in Santa Barbara County last month floated down the coast to beaches in Ventura and Los Angeles counties, according to separate lab results released Monday by both state officials and the Texas pipeline company.
