Washington – Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles) released the following statement regarding the announcement by Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Bob McDonald of his upcoming visit to West Los Angeles next week:
"I want to thank Secretary McDonald for showing his commitment to the Veterans of Los Angeles by visiting the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. Based on our conversations over the past couple of weeks, we share a common goal when it comes to addressing Veterans homelessness and improving the quality of services to our Veterans.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Ted Lieu (D-Los Angeles) issued the following statement today regarding the ongoing West Coast ports contract negotiations between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) and the Pacific Merchant Association (PMA):
"Our ports are the economic lifeblood of Southern California. Many businesses are impacted by the safety of our ports and the speed in which goods pass through them on their way in and out of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

"Secretary McDonald and I had a very productive discussion about the Greater Los Angeles VA and how we can live up to our promise to take care of those who have sacrificed so much for our country. It is clear from my conversation with the Secretary that he cares deeply about our homeless Veterans.
Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu was officially sworn in as the Representative of California's 33rd Congressional District.
"It is a great honor to be elected by the people of the 33rd Congressional District. Succeeding Henry Waxman will not be an easy task, but I will do all that I can to honor his legacy," said Congressman Lieu, who was recently elected Democratic freshman class president.
