WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) announced that the city of Rancho Palos Verdes will receive a $23.3 million grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for a landslide mitigation project. The funding will support the city’s Portuguese Mud/Landslide Community Infrastructure Resilience Project to stabilize a 240-acre landslide area, eliminate excess moisture, and reduce future ground movement.

Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) announced a new $5,000 per student basic needs scholarship to 50 college-going foster youth at Camp Ready, an event to welcome a new class of students to the Ready to Succeed program. Ready to Succeed is an innovative college and career accelerator organization with 200 foster youth and first-generation college student participants.
