Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) announced that he secured nearly $8 million in federal funding for local homelessness projects in the Fiscal Year 2023 appropriations bill recently signed into law by President Biden. These projects will help address issues around homelessness, including temporary housing, mental health support, medical care and job readiness in LA County.

LOS ANGELES, CA – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) participated in the official public opening of the Allcove Beach Cities Youth Wellness Center in Redondo Beach, California. Congressman Lieu requested and secured $1,000,000 in federal funding for the Center in the Fiscal Year 2022 government spending package. The funding has allowed Beach Cities Health District to build a dedicated health facility to expand the Allcove Youth Wellness Center, creating a one-stop-shop for young people to access mental health and other services in Los Angeles County.

LOS ANGELES, CA – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) visited St. Joseph Center, a Venice-based nonprofit that provides programs focused on housing, mental health, education and vocational training for homeless and low-income individuals in Los Angeles County. Congressman Lieu secured $898,053 for the St. Joseph Center's Purpose Lab Employment Project in the FY 2023 appropriations bill.

LOS ANGELES, CA – Yesterday, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) visited the UCLA Homeless Healthcare Collaborative, a program that provides free health care, clothes, hygiene products, and social services to unhoused individuals in Los Angeles County. Congressman Lieu secured $592,000 in federal funding for the program in the Fiscal Year 2022 government spending package. The funding allows UCLA Health to purchase and equip two additional mobile clinics, expanding its ability to bring safe and accessible care directly to people living on the streets of Los Angeles.
