WASHINGTON – Today, Reps. Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County), Abigail Spanberger (D-VA), Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) and Tom Malinowski (D-NJ) led a group of 23 members calling on President Trump to articulate his goals for engagement with Iran. In a letter, the Members expressed concerns that the Administration lacks a cogent strategy on Iran, and that various Administration officials have articulated different and confusing goals.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) and Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) introduced H.R. 3571, the bipartisan "City and State Diplomacy Act", which will support state and local diplomacy with counterparts abroad. The bill will establish an Office of Subnational Diplomacy at the State Department, which will coordinate overall U.S. policy and programs in support of city and state engagement with foreign governments and officials.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after introducing an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 that would prohibit the emergency sale of arms to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. On June 18, 2019, the House passed Congressman Lieu's amendment to the Defense Appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2020 on a bipartisan basis to block the execution of these 22 emergency sales.
