House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Tuesday called for multiple investigations into the posting of an animated video by Rep. Paul A. Gosar (R-Ariz.) that depicts him killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and swinging two swords at President Biden.

In a tweet, Pelosi urged House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) to join in condemning the "horrific video" and supporting investigations by the House Ethics Committee and law enforcement.

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after the House passed the Senate's bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and began the process of voting on the Build Back Better Act. The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will now go to the President's desk to be signed into law. The Build Back Better Act is expected to receive a formal vote in the near future.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County), Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Congresswoman Sara Jacobs (D-CA) announced the reintroduction of the Arms Sale Oversight Act, which would align House procedure for reviewing major arms sales with existing Senate procedure under the Arms Export Control Act. The bill makes it possible for any House member to force debate on the House floor in the event that the House Foreign Affairs Committee (HFAC) does not debate a contested arms sale.

REID: It is clear from multiple reports that Congressman Mo Brooks figures prominently in the events of January 6.

Most recently, "Rolling Stone" reported that Brooks was among several Republicans or their staffs who spoke with an organizer and a planner of the so-called Stop the Steal rally. And while NBC News has not independently verified that report, Brooks has also been implicated by pro- Trump Organizer Ali Alexander in the planning of another rally at the Capitol that day.

Attorney General Merrick Garland defended himself Thursday from Republican criticism of a directive he wrote about conflicts related to public schools, saying the Department of Justice simply wants to examine and curtail possible violence, not squelch or intimidate parents angry about curriculums or pandemic-era rules.

Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) led a letter with Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (D-TX) and Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (D-TX) urging the State Bar of Texas to find a swift resolution to its inquiry into President Trump's lawyer Sidney Powell in light of recent reports that she was potentially aware that she was making false statements about 2020 election fraud.
