WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) applauded House passage of his bill, H.R. 711, the West Los Angeles VA Campus Improvement Act of 2021. This legislation will help the Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) address veteran homelessness in the Los Angeles area. In addition, it helps VA use already available funding streams for certain homeless veteran programs, thus reducing the need for taxpayer funds.

"I am alarmed by reports of Azerbaijan‘s military encroachment on Armenian territory in the region of Lake Sev. If the reports are true, Azerbaijan's operation would represent a violation of both Armenia‘s sovereignty and international law. I call on Azerbaijan to withdraw immediately and put an end to hostile actions that undermine the goal of peaceful dialogue and negotiation."

WASHINGTONToday, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) and Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-NM) introduced legislation that would create a new grant program administered by the Department of Labor to hire America's unemployed and underemployed journalists and writers. In April 2020, the New York Times estimated that 36,000 workers at news outlets had been laid off, or had their positions reduced, and these numbers do not account for freelance and gig writers.
