WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-CA) announced his appointment to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform for the 114th Congress. As the primary investigative body for the House of Representatives, the Committee has the authority to scrutinize any matter within the jurisdiction of standing House committees. The Committee has historically served as a critical check on the powers of the legislative and executive branches as well as abuses of the public trust by private companies.
Washington – Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles) released the following statement regarding the announcement by Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Bob McDonald of his upcoming visit to West Los Angeles next week:
"I want to thank Secretary McDonald for showing his commitment to the Veterans of Los Angeles by visiting the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. Based on our conversations over the past couple of weeks, we share a common goal when it comes to addressing Veterans homelessness and improving the quality of services to our Veterans.
