Western countries need to go beyond simply acknowledging that Russian propaganda is a problem and begin countering disinformation campaigns, according to a new report released Wednesday by the Washington-based think tank the Atlantic Council.
Reps. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) and Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) are pressing Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on why the State Department has not yet spent any of the $120 million it has been allocated to combat foreign efforts to meddle in U.S. elections.

In the letter, the Congressmen ask the Secretary why State has not enacted Congress's bipartisan directive to address foreign disinformation campaigns.
