WASHINGTON, DC – Congressmen Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) and Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ) today denounced the Republican-led House Judiciary Committee after it voted along party lines to block the passage of H. Res. 928, their Resolution of Inquiry that would impose proper oversight of Donald Trump's abuse of the pardon power. Following the committee hearing on the resolution, Pascrell and Lieu issued a joint statement:
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressmen Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) and Anthony Brown (D-MD), both former Judge Advocate Generals (JAGs), sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions urging him to withdraw his request for active duty JAGs to go to the border and prosecute immigration cases. In the midst of the ongoing family separation crisis, Reps. Lieu and Brown oppose this proposal because it is unwise, inefficient and hurts our national security.
