REP LIEU STATEMENT ON THE MURDER OF TYRE NICHOLS

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement on Tyre Nichols.

"My prayers are with the family and friends of Tyre Nichols. I reviewed all four videos released by the Memphis Police Department. We can all agree that excessive use of force like what we saw in this video is both abhorrent and indictable. Tyre Nichols should be alive today. The actions of the five police officers in Memphis are a stain on law enforcement. It was appropriate that the officers were swiftly fired and charged for their conduct, but that will not bring Tyre back. I pray that justice is served and that Tyre's family finds solace in our collective mourning."
