REP LIEU STATEMENT ON SUPREME COURT MIFEPRISTONE DECISION

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after the United States Supreme Court unanimously voted to reject a challenge to the abortion pill mifepristone. 

"This is a short-term victory for everyone who believes that people should not be forced to carry pregnancies against their will and against medical advice. The Court's decision does not, however, mitigate the very real threat to reproductive healthcare that this extremist Supreme Court brought about when it overturned Roe v. Wade. There is nothing in this opinion that prevents MAGA extremists from passing laws to ban medication abortion, and nothing in the opinion that prevents a future court challenge from a plaintiff with standing."
