REP LIEU SECURES FEDERAL FUNDING FOR ARNOLD AVE REHABILITATION PROJECT AT WEST LA VA

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) announced that he secured nearly $750,000 for a community funding project at the West Los Angeles VA in the Fiscal Year 2022 government spending package signed into law by President Biden. The funding will go to US Vets's Arnold Avenue Rehabilitation Project on the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center Campus.
"As a veteran, I know firsthand how important it is to ensure our veterans receive the support and care they need. From my first days in Congress, I have made it a priority to improve the West Los Angeles VA, which for too long failed to serve our veterans in the manner they deserve. I'm pleased to have secured funding for the Arnold Avenue Rehabilitation Project at the West LA VA Campus and look forward to seeing the project completed. I will continue to advocate for the needs of our nation's heroes in Congress."
When complete, the dilapidated road will be transformed into a pedestrian friendly space that supports wellness and community integration for the residents of Buildings 206, 207, and 300, which are in the process of being converted into permanent supportive housing for veterans experiencing homelessness. This project is a part of a larger "transportation backbone" plan, that will improve the accessibility of the entire north campus pursuant to the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center Draft Master Plan.
