The individual selected for this fellowship will carry out both casework and field responsibilities, acting as a liaison between constituents and federal, state, and local agencies. The Fellow's portfolio includes coverage of the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Medical Center, one of the nation's largest VA hospitals located in CA-33.

The Gold Star Family Fellowship Program was established during the 116th Congress by the House of Representatives to provide employment and career development opportunities for families of fallen service members.

"As an Air Force veteran, I've witnessed firsthand the duty, honor, and commitment to country exemplified by current and former members of our military and their families," said Rep. Lieu. "Military families, like their loved ones who serve, make incredible sacrifices in the name of patriotism and service to our country. I am pleased to welcome a Gold Star Family Fellow into my office. This fellowship program not only provides an employment opportunity, but also helps my office gain a unique perspective that will help ensure we're meeting the needs of our current and former servicemembers and their families. I commend the House of Representative's Gold Star Family Fellowship Program for its work uplifting military families and I look forward to welcoming our fellow soon."

Gold Star Family Members are eligible for the program if they meet all the following requirements: must be the parent, spouse, sibling, child, or step-child of a service member who either died on active duty or of a service member who received an Honorable Discharge and died due to a service connected disability within four-years of military separation.

The Office of Congressman Ted W. Lieu is an equal opportunity employer.
