REP LIEU CONDEMNS POLITICAL VIOLENCE

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after law enforcement thwarted what is reportedly a second attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump yesterday.

“Political violence is unacceptable under any circumstance. We do not have a clear motive in this instance, and it is my expectation that there will be a thorough investigation and assessment of how the Secret Service can best safeguard those in its care. Candidates and elected officials should be able to make their cases to the public without fear of being attacked or killed. This is something we must always agree upon – regardless of our ideological differences.”
