REP LIEU APPLAUDS $5.8 MILLION IN DOT GRANT FUNDING TO REPAIR INFRASTRUCTURE DAMAGES FROM WOOLSEY FIRE

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) highlighted the news that the U.S. Department of Transportation will award nearly $5.8 million in Emergency Relief grant funding to repair damages caused by the 2018 Woolsey Fire. The funding is part of a larger $45.1 million grant awarded to the California Department of Transportation for various project sites requiring repair as a result of the Camp, Woolsey and Hill Wildfires in 2018.
"Over three years ago, the disastrous Woolsey fire devastated parts of my district. Our community lost so much during the blaze, and we continue to reel from it years later. I'm pleased to hear that the Department of Transportation will award $5.8 million in grant funding to help repair roads and bridges in my district that remain damaged from the fire. Specifically, the grant will provide funding to support renovations for Mulholland Highway, the Triunfo Creek Bridge in Cornell, and the Chesebro Road Bridge in Agoura Hills. Since the fire, it has been my priority to secure federal funding to rebuild burned-down homes and infrastructure. I am grateful to the Department of Transportation for supporting these projects and look forward to seeing the improvements made."
