REP LIEU ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING REQUESTS FOR FY2025

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) announced that he submitted 15 requests for Community Project Funding to the House Committee on Appropriations for Fiscal Year 2025. The projects submitted by Congressman Lieu would serve the residents of California’s 36th Congressional District by providing federal funding to enhance public safety, mitigate and prevent landslides, improve public school facilities, increase access to affordable housing and more.
Every year, Congress is responsible for allocating overall funding (“appropriations”) for offices, programs and grants administered by the federal government. Representative Lieu has the opportunity to advocate for programs that are beneficial to California’s 36th Congressional District and the constituents he represents. Congressman Lieu submitted 15 projects, which was the maximum number of projects that Members of the House could submit. The 12 Appropriations Subcommittees will consider the Member requests for inclusion in their 12 Fiscal Year 2025 spending bills.
“I am pleased to advocate for federal funding for these 15 impactful local projects,” said Rep. Lieu. “This year, our selected community projects aim to tackle important issues in Los Angeles County like disaster preparedness, school and community building infrastructure improvements and expanded access to housing for vulnerable community members. It has been an honor to work alongside our local partners to champion these projects. I will continue fighting to ensure these projects are funded as the appropriations bills move through the legislative process.”
