On Saturday, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-33) will be highlighting how devastating the Republican tax plan would be for Californians along with Rep. Judy Chu (D-27), Rep. Nanette Barragan (D-44), Social Security Works, the National Association of Realtors, SEIU UHW and members of the public. The GOP proposal to eliminate the state and local deduction would hurt California, where more than 6 million households claimed the deduction in 2015. Beyond that—the plan limits the mortgage interest deduction, which is a direct assault of the dream of middle class homeownership in communities across California.
