WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) was re-elected to be Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus, the number four position in House Democratic Leadership. Congressman Lieu is the highest-ranking Asian American serving in Congress.
Congressman Lieu issued the following statement after his colleagues elected him:
WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) and Congressman Kevin Kiley (R-CA) introduced bipartisan legislation to increase the maximum penalties for various kinds of fraud committed with the assistance of artificial intelligence. The Members’ legislation, the AI Fraud Deterrence Act, would impose harsher fines on those who use AI to commit wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud or money laundering.
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County), along with Reps. Nannette Diaz Barragán (D-CA), Julia Brownley (D-CA), Jared Huffman (D-CA) and Salud Carbajal (D-CA), urged the Biden-Harris Administration to take action to mitigate dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) contamination in the waters along southern California’s coast.
