Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) sent a letter along with 13 of his colleagues urging the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Chiquita Brooks-LaSure to support using coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) to help diagnose heart disease. CCTA is a noninvasive imaging procedure that detects coronary artery disease and quantifies the narrowing of arteries among patients with chest pain.
