WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) sent a letter to the Director of the Administrative Office of the United States Courts urging him to adopt teleconference or video conference capabilities for federal courts in light of COVID-19.

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) urged Vice President Mike Pence, head of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, to articulate a plan for how the federal government will address potential shortages of a vital component of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) tests. Public reports indicate that multiple clinical labs in the U.S. do not have an adequate supply of chemical reagents, which are necessary for the COVID-19 tests.

Lieu joined over 100 lawmakers urging Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar to employ existing authority to establish a Special Enrollment Period for patients to seek ACA Marketplace coverage during the COVID-19 pandemic.

WASHINGTON  - On Saturday, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) hosted his congressional district’s sixth-annual reception for the Congressional Art Competition at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. Students from 15 different high schools submitted 273 pieces of art for this year’s competition. These submissions included 110 photographs, 66 paintings, 50 drawings, 28 mixed-media pieces, and 19 other pieces that included computer-generated art.

These public health emergency declarations will enable officials to more easily acquire federal funding to assist with efforts to address and contain the coronavirus.
