One Democratic leader says best way to ‘stick it’ to Trump administration: Go vote
September 1, 2026
Rep. Ted Lieu said House Democrats have been researching potential Trump administration voter suppression scenarios similar to one revealed in a whistleblower’s claim that the U.S. Postal Service is possibly jeopardizing mail-in ballots.
Lieu said the message he wants to give Americans is simple: ”Just go … vote,” he said, using a profanity.
He encouraged voters to make sure they’re registered to vote and cast ballots early or in person, if need be.
“That’s the best way to stick it to the administration that’s trying to keep you from voting,” he said. “Go vote.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson said he was unaware of the whistleblower’s complaint.
