REP LIEU VOTES TO CODIFY ROE V. WADE

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after the House passed The Women’s Health Protection Act, legislation to enshrine access to reproductive health care into law for everyone across America, regardless of what state they live in. In 1973, the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision held that women’s access to abortion is a constitutional right and the Court has repeatedly upheld Roe v. Wade as precedent for nearly half a century.

REPS LIEU, GARCIA AND ESCOBAR CALL FOR TRUMP LAWYER SIDNEY POWELL TO BE DISBARRED

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) led a letter with Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (D-TX) and Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (D-TX) urging the State Bar of Texas to find a swift resolution to its inquiry into President Trump's lawyer Sidney Powell in light of recent reports that she was potentially aware that she was making false statements about 2020 election fraud.

REP LIEU APPLAUDS HOUSE PASSAGE OF FY22 NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after the House passed the bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act for FY22. The NDAA that passed the House includes a pay raise for servicemembers, significant improvements to our country’s cybersecurity, and investments in new partnerships with the private sector and academia, including HBCUs and Minority-Serving Institutions.

REP LIEU JOINS BIPARTISAN LETTER URGING ADMINISTRATION TO DONATE UNUSED VACCINES AROUND THE GLOBE

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) signed a bipartisan letter led by Congresswoman Susan Wild (D-PA) urging the Biden Administration to donate unused COVID-19 vaccine doses to developing countries. In the letter, the Members argue that providing vaccines to developing countries both ensures supplies are not wasted and helps the world move closer to ending the pandemic.
